"I understand the frustration of rate increases. We are also not immune to the rapidly changing Colorado insurance markets, however, I'd like to stress the fact that you are located in a class 4 wildfire risk area. As you discuss your renewal with your neighbors, you may find many of them are being dropped by other carriers and left with little to no options to insure their homes due to location.

While our office has zero control over rates, I appreciate that State Farm has found a way to continue offering coverage for existing customers in extreme hazard zones. This increase was in coordination with Colorado insurance regulators in order to prevent you from being uninsurable. If you were to experience a total loss, our exposure could be north of $2.5mm, so while I feel the increase was reasonable, I'm happy to review your insurance plan together to find potential areas you're willing to absorb more risk and lower premiums. "
